The JICABLE'03 conference organizers together with PROSPECTIVE 2100 are organizing a workshop focusing on the following topic : "Which World Transmission System in 2050? What role would Power Insulated Cables Play?"

Access to this workshop, which will bring together specialists from all over the world, will be free of charge and possible with invitation only. It will be organized on Thursday 26 June in parrallel with the technical visits.

After having considered the development prospects of a World Energy Transmission System between 2000 and 2050 and its possible steps, the workshop will examine the role that could be played by the Power Insulated Cables among the other techniques and conceivable vectors of power transmission :

• Evolution steps of a World Energy Transmission System between 2000 and 2050, presentation of cases and scenarios,


• Characteristics of the types of links for such a system,


• Power Insulated Cables technologies and characteristics conceivable to ensure these functions,


• Technical and economical comparisons of the Insulated Cables with other techniques and possible vectors of power transmission.
