The Château de Breteuil was constructed in 1600 on the same
site as the former fortified castle. The Château has been
owned by the Breteuil family since 1600, and handed down
from father to son since 1712.
The castle was classified as a “Historic Monument” in 1973
and receives 100,000 visitors per year ! The interior of the
castle hosts an impressive collection of paintings, antique
furniture and tapestries made by the famous Gobelin factories in
Paris, including the highly acclaimed masterpiece, “La Table
de Teschen” (1779). The office and kitchens are populated
with wax personalities made by the Musée Grévin in Paris.
The Château is surrounded by a 75-hectare park including a
French-style garden and several lakes.
